Registration for Youth Basketball Camp May 15 - July 5, 2006 Doolittle Community Center, Las Vegas Top college basketball players will teach game fundamentals to boys and girls ages 11 to 14 who enroll in a free three-day camp that will be held Wednesday through Friday, July 19 to 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the city of Las Vegas Doolittle Community Center. The young athletes will be coached by Division One basketball players from the universities of Southern Utah, Tennessee, Pepperdine, Coastal Carolina, Washington and San Diego State University, as well as by former University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Running Rebel players. The free camp includes a T-shirt, water bottle, sports bag, daily breakfast snack and lunch. Parents of camp participants are invited to a free workshop on Friday, July 21, to learn ways to enhance youth nutrition and activities and how to prepare for college basketball recruiters and other college opportunities. The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services, Golden Gaming and the Las Vegas Review-Journal are sponsoring the event. Registration for the camp opens May 15 and closes July 5, or when full.
